Hohoho...finally finished the role play thingy of my English class. It costs us 30 marks!!!! I was really worried and nervous b4 that. My partner was Bryan and actually he did all the thing...thinking the storyline, writing the script, and correcting the script after our lecturer had marked it. And what I needed to do was just act nicely...haha....
There were 1 pregnant mother and 1 doctor in our role play. Obviously I had to act as the pregnant mother since Bryan is a guy... Mun Yee actually suggested Bryan to act as the pregnant mother as it would be funnier. But I think the line of the doctor were longer so I chose the role of the pregnant mother. B4 that I really had no confidence to act because I had a lot of crying scene... So...this was the script of our role play:

Draft of interview
Dr: Good morning Mrs. Ku, please have a seat. You're not due for another week or so, is that right? What brings you here today?
Pt: Yes, my delivery's dated for the 12 th of December, but I came as soon as I could to see you. Something has happened!! I've been bleeding since last night. It's not serious, is it? (catches breath)
Pt: I couldn't sleep the whole night, I was dead worried…I'm afraid something had happened to the baby… (starts crying, tugs on Dr's sleeve)
Dr: Calm down, Mrs. Ku, many expectant mothers bleed a little now and then, and especially when one is so near to delivering…(interrupted by Pt)
Pt: But I'm not like other mothers!
Dr: I didn't mean to suggest you were, I'm just saying it might not be a huge cause for concern.
Dr: Let's go through this together, shall we? Can you tell me exactly what happened last night?
Pt: Well, I think it was around 3 am (sniff) I wasn't able to sleep, so I went off to the kitchen to get a glass of warm milk (sniff) When I returned to my bed, I saw blood on the bed sheets!
Dr: Do go on, are you sure it was your blood?
Pt: (sniff) It was on my side of the bed! The right side…My husband sleeps on the left side…Nobody sleeps on my side, you see…only me (talks fast, stammering, sobbing- interrupted by Dr.)
Dr: Please Mrs. Ku, deep breaths (hands Pt a plastic bag and demonstrates breathing technique) Right, keep on taking breaths, we'll do this slowly, ok?
Pt: (nods head, taking breaths)
Dr: Did you examine the blood?
Pt: (nods head vigorously)
Dr: Would you mind describing the blood? Was it dried or was it still wet?
Pt: Dried, I think. No, wet. Ohh, my hands could be wet from the kitchen. I’m not sure!
Dr: Ok, let's sidestep that. How much blood do you think there was?
Pt: Uhmm...I'm not sure. I think there was a large patch…
Dr: Right, are you in pain right now, Mrs. Ku?
Pt: (sniff) No, just a little tired, that’s all. I felt a little giddy in the car while ago, but I’m feeling much better now…
Dr: Do you feel any cramps or contractions?
Pt: No…I don't think so.
Dr: Do you feel any chills or do you feel feverish?
Pt: No, I don't.
Dr: Hmm, can you think of anything that might have caused you to bleed? Were you injured or did you accidentally knock on anything yesterday?
Pt: (shakes head)
Dr: Did you feel any pain or discomfort in the evening before you went off to bed?
Pt: (shakes head)
Pt: Well, there is one thing… (reluctantly)
Dr: Please do not be shy, Mrs. Ku. I need as much information as I can in order to help you.
Pt: Uhmm, we were celebrating last night. Me and my husband.
Dr: I’m quite certain it wasn't alcohol, although I really do not suggest you drinking so far into the pregnancy.
Pt: We weren't drinking, Dr. We just thought it'll be a small celebratory affair, I'm afraid we were a bit too rough.
Dr: What do you mean, Mrs. Ku?
Pt: We were having sex! I'm so sorry. We're so sorry! (starts sobbing)
Dr: Mrs. Ku…
Pt: No…we’re sorry…We just thought it'll be one last time before the baby was born.
Dr: Mrs. Ku…
Pt: No… because of our stupidity and lack of control, our poor baby suffered. Please save her, doctor! Please!
Dr: Mrs. Ku, please do stop. (exasperated again) Please, I assure you that sex is quite safe in cases of a normal pregnancy. Many doctors may recommend that mothers stop having sex during the final weeks of pregnancy, just as a safety precaution.
Pt: (sniff) Will my baby be alright?
Dr: We'll do an ultrasound and have a look at her, alright? I'm also going to do a vaginal examination to see whether your cervix might be dilated. We need to find out the reason for the bleeding, Mrs. Ku.
Pt: Yes, thank you, thank you (still sobbing)
Dr: Meanwhile, I strongly advise against further sexual intercourse, until we find the cause of your bleeding. Right, anything else that’s on your mind? Any questions?
Pt: No, it's alright. I just want to check if the baby's safe as soon as possible.

So what do you think after reading the script? What 1st struck into my mind was "Huh? I've to cry ar?" Besides my family, I seldom cry in front of other people including my closest friends. So I got a really big problem to overcome this. We had a little pratice b4 the class started and Bryan actually not satisfied with my acting. Haih....
Btw our role play ended up with the lecturer's compliment. Haha... She even praised me for my good acting.... Hahaha....Eh! Don't play play! I got hidden talent, you know? But I was so embarassed after the play... don't even dare to look at my classmates.
We had fun in the class, though. I really enjoying watching people acting and laughing at them... haha... And also thanks to Bryan and Mun Yee (who helped me to write our 1st script)...
