Barbecue Night in Seremban

Barbecue night... this was one of the orientation programmes in Ciinical School Seremban. Bascially we, the Semester 6 student, have to prepare performance and food for the seniors and the guests.

So, we were actually quite busy during the 1st week of our posting. However we have to meet up with our orientation group for the barbecue night. For our group, we have to prepare chicken wings for food and a play for the performance. We didn't really prepare much for our performance. Nisha came up with the idea of playing something like "Malaysia Idol" and Ben Shyen wrote the script (actually he just came up with the storyline and we have to came up with our own lines).

Other groups practised their performance every night but our group didn't practise our play at all until the very last minute before the night. We nearly gave up because Ben didn't want to play the gay role and members not coming for practice. None of us were motivated to practise. Finally we decided to kick out the gay role and we started to practise 1 hour b4 the night.

The MC was played by Melissa and the three judges were Nisha, Awatef and Patrick (but Patrick didn't appear that night and he was replaced by Victor who wasn't our group member). The contestants include Jin Aun, me, Tanga and Ben. Poh Tian and Nina, 2 small girls, acted as the security guard and Sally played as the cleaner. Initially, I supposed to play as the MC but there's no script and I didn't know what to say. So I changed role with Melissa, who was initially playing as a contestant who can sing well. But later Ben didn't want to play the gay role so I asked him to play my role since he can really sing well. At last, Awatef came up this idea that I have to play as a super childish contestant who sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".

We practised twice and hoping everything would be fine. We really did't put any hope in our performance because other groups put in more effort than us. There were 5 group of us, group 1 was performing an Indian dance, group 2, my group, performing "SS Idol - Shock Sendiri Idol", group 3 was performing "Mario", group 4 sang songs which Johan wrote the lyrics which were so so so funny and group 5 performing a play, too, which was 'in prompt to'.

I think the "Mario" was really cute and funny. Try to imagine the Mario we used to play during our childhood, played by a real person. If you can't imagine, watch this! This idea came from the current semester 1 performance in variety night. The video above was played by the Sem 1. So basically group 5 just copied the idea. The songs sang by group 4 were funny too. Johan wrote the lyrics which reflect medical student's life in IMU BJ & Clinical School. If I got the lyrics, I'll post it here.

After all our group performance was not that bad at all. There was one lecturer gave us the highest marks. However the champion went to mario and the 2nd went to Johan's group. Satisfied with the results...

After the performance, the guests and the seniors got to have their dinner 1st. We, the sem 6, gotta stay in the hall to listen to the ex SRC president and the current SRC president's advice. After that, when we came out, we gotta queue up for food and the food was finished b4 my turn. I only got some fried noodle and 1 chicken wing. We prepared so hard for the performance and food, but we didn't get return. And the seniors actually thanked the guests and the seniors for attending the barbecue night but they didn't thank us for all the preparation made by the sem 6. They only thanked us for coming...

However I do have fun enjoying the performance. Looking forward for the next sem barbecue night...

1st Week in Seremban

I am backed in PJ already. After 1 week in Seremban, finally... I am backed in PJ now.

1st week in Seremban, nothing much to do... everyday gotta attend briefings and talks by different lecturers. Couldn't remember every lecturer's name, maybe gotta take some time then.

Feel so stressed now. It's a big transition phase from phase 1 in Bukit Jalil to phase 2 in Clinical School here. Longer time in the wards, stricter rules, lecturers are more fierce and so boring here.

My schedule for everyday will be:
- 8am in the ward to clerk history and physical examination
- 10am Case Presentation
- 12pm if lucky I can have lunch then... If not gotta wait till 1pm (as for Prof Esha's teaching)
- 2pm - 4.30pm TBL
At night, we also have to be on-call. If got on-call, I'll be staying in the wards whole day. OMG!! On-call without any paid... poor thing to be a STUDENT DOCTOR!! Has no life!!

I am still not so prepared for a clinical life. Have to do research which I hate so much and CFCS (Community and Family Case Study) throughout Sem 6 to Sem 9. A lot of report writing, TBL, IMS... Everything is so different from phase 1. No more TV and movies for me... ;( My life will be full of studies and patients in the wards. My first posting, Internal Medicine will be starting next week...

About my room, everything seems to be fine. But dunno why, my room is easy to get dirty. I gotta sweep the floor 2 times per day. My hair is dropping a lot on the floor and also it is very dusty. No heater in the bathroom, and I gotta boil water in the morning to bath... And also there is no streamyx in my house, cannot online then.

Btw there are 2 cute kids in my house. They will keep calling me "Jie Jie! Jie Jie!" whenever they see me....Oh...so cute!!!

明星梦

请别误会！此明星梦不同彼明星梦！我并不是在发明星梦（虽然有时也会），我现在说的是...做了一个有明星的梦。

我并不是很常做有明星的梦。到目前为止，记得的有三个：

１）应该是在 Form 2 的时候。那时谢霆锋的＂特警新人类＂上映，然后不知怎么的，就梦见他。在梦里，我还问他，觉得自己帅吗？他说，一点都不帅。可是，过后我再问他，在＂特警新人类＂里的五个男主角，觉得哪一个最帅？他又很害羞地说，是他自己。我那时还骂他，厚脸皮！因为我觉得最帅那个是吴彦祖。这是个很白痴的梦，里头还有很多不可思议的事情，好像谢霆锋有一个baby啦等等...

我把这个梦写在日记里，前几天收拾东西时，拿出来翻翻看，觉得真的是超级白痴的！！！有一些细节真的忘记了，翻翻看，整个画面又重新浮现在我的脑海，哈！

２）忘了是什么时候，是梦到古巨基的。只记得我有跟他谈天，细节都不记得了。基仔是我的头号偶像，当然要梦见他啦！

３）最后一个是最近的。那时刚好又看了＂王子变青蛙＂和＂爱情魔发师＂，竟然梦见明道！这个也是个超级不要脸的家伙，在我的梦里，一直猛赞自己又高又帅，哈哈！我就故意气他说，王绍伟比较红喔！

记得的就只有这几个（可能不记得的更多），都是一些很白痴的梦。跟大家分享，让大家笑下，也可以回忆下曾做过哪些深刻的梦。

Convocation =D

Finally the M104 batch has completed the phase 1 of Medical Programme. Saturday (19/08/2006) was the day which every1 of us will get our certificate and half of us will leave IMU, going to PMS. However I'm not really excited about this convocation because I'm still staying in IMU Seremban and will be meeting most of my batchmates in Seremban.

There were 130+ of our batch attended the convo. This was the last time for us to meet those who are going PMS. Too bad most of my gang didn't turn up, including Jin-Yu, Yi Ning, Baxter, Yaw Yee, Poh Tian, Zul (who is in KL now but din wanna come according to Chaozer) and Jackson (who went to Dundee after the exam). Chaozer and Jacob came for the rehearsal but didn't turn up for the actual day, weird??

On friday (the rehearsal day), thanks to Xin Yi because got a free ride from her!! Long time we didn't meet up. After I reached IMU, I got a lot of things to settle, including my insurance claim and certify documents for my loan. Then I gotta meet up some juniors to sell my books to them. Talked to them (forgot their names) and Chee Keong about EOS 5. I told them MUST read the past year. I think for our Problem Case, around 10% was from the past year. As usual, they were quite worried and I comforted them that it's not that easy to fail EOS la. Sound familiar?? HAHA... I used to be the junior, asking the seniors a lot of question... and they would tell me not to worry, just study. But I doubted what the seniors said because I think the study leave was too short for us. Now, 风水轮流转... I am now the senior telling the junior the same thing. After that, I was planning to check mail using the Apple PC in the library, because my PC broke down for 1 week de, but too bad the connection was not working. Stupid IMU PC!!

The rehearsal started around 3pm. According to Paul Jambu, there are 297 graduating students attending the convo including C1/04 MBBS, BMed students, M1/04, returning graduates from Strathclyde and Master of Science. We got the robes after the rehearsal. Without the hoods and mortarboards, wearing only robes make us look like Harry Potter.

The next day, we have to be at Hotel Sheraton by 7am. Luckily it's quite near from my house, just 10 minutes. There was a final rehearsal b4 the ceremony starts. We arranged ourselves into seats. First is the Master of Science that only 1 person attended, then C104, following by BMed and M104 and lastly are the pharmacist students. Fraser, who was sitting beside me asked me a question.

"Why always the medical students in front of the pharmacist students?"

Erm... Good question!! I told him, because alphabetically, 'M' comes b4 'P'.

Then he asked again, "Why MBBS b4 BMed?"

Erm... "Because MBBS need 5 years to finish and BMed only need 1 year..."

"Why not M104 b4 BMed? We took 2 1/2 years to finish! Somemore actually it's Master of Pharmacy, should be in front of MBBS, which is only Bachelor."

"Ya hor!" Finally we came to a conclusion...

"It's because the fees we paid. We paid more than the pharmacist student. BMed paid more than us since they already in IMU for 3 1/2 years. MBBS paid more than BMed because they stayed in IMU for 5 years already. OK??" I said.

After we were seated (during the rehearsal), we have to go up the stage ONE BY ONE, practising where to bow on the stage, shake to the Chancellor and smile to the photographer. Firstly, bow to the academic people on the stage when your first step on the stage. Then walk majestically to the Chancellor, bow to him when u step on the a cross 'X'. Then "Shake, Take and Smile". Shake his hand, take the scroll and smile to the photographer. Since we were the 1st batch joining the convo, Paul Jambu want us to go on stage 1 by 1 to practise. OOHH... what a waste of time!! Luckily due to running out of time, we just practise until Matthew's turn.

After the rehearsal, we finally have time to put on our ' Harry Potter's costume'. When the M104 batch pass by, it really looks like a bunch of Harry Potter. OK... I will be in the Gryffindor team... Haha...

The whole ceremony was long and dull as expected. We were so hungry and sleepy. But we got no choice, gotta wait till the whole ceremony end. When the C104 gold medalist being announced, the whole batch stood up and cheered for the gold medalist. We were so shocked. Then we started to discuss whether we should stand for Joseph, our gold medalist too...

"Should we stand ar?"
"Stand la!"
"Huh? Need meh?"
"What if later the pharmacist students also stand and we don't stand? Then Joseph got no face la.."
"Ok la.. just stand la.. to give him face!!"

Then we stood and cheered for Joseph.... Sure Joseph very happy... Haha.. hope Joseph won't see this..

After the ceremony, we left the hall from a side door, passed through a 'secret passage' which Paul said we won't be able to see the food (but we could smell the food lo, Paul!!), and entered the hall again from the other side door. We always do stupid things.... Why we have to leave the hall and enter the hall again? Why can't we just stay in the hall? Really can't understand the lecturers' plan. During the seating arrangement, we have to move also because they forgot to leave seats for BMed students. Haih...

We were the 1st batch to take the group photo. I nearly missed the photography session because I went out to search for my parents. Paul did warn us not to wander around after the ceremony, but I just went out. Luckily came back in time to take the photo.

The food in Hotel Sheraton was quite nice and there was variety. But I didn't get to take more food because I was in a hurry. Didn't get to take photo too... Just took 2 when I was coming down from the stage and took 1 with Mun Yee (P/S: munny, remember to send me the photo!).

Got the certificate and academic transcript with all the marks since Sem 1 by exchanging the scroll. Ya... also thanks to those who congratulate me for being in the Dean's list. Wei-Liang sent me a msg during the ceremony. I was wondering how he knew coz we just knew it during the final rehearsal. He told me that it appeared in the newspaper. Even my high school friends also knew it. Low profile, Ok? Haha...

Results out!!

EOS 5 results are out today!! Finally after a long wait, with hope and no nervous (dunno why I am not nervous at all... maybe I will accept any results as long as I pass!), I got my results. Opened it, no surprise, overall A- as I wished. I know I couldn't get A and I just don't want to get B+... haha... What surprised us was the Health Issue results, I think most of us didn't get the grades which they expected. Wonder how's the graph? My Problem Case and OSPE improved compare to SEM 3 but my OSCE was worst than SEM 3...

Got Convo Mag too after the results. Good job to the convo mag committee! Thanks for all the hard work for the convo mag while we were suffering for exams.

Finally...

Dunno there are how many "Finally" posts in my blog already. Haha... I always use "Finally" as the title when I am relieved.

What so relief me today? Finally... I found a room in Seremban. Less 1 problem to trouble now. B4 that, I was planning to stay with Arathi, Evelynn and Melissa. But now, I found a house with a family and a nurse staying. Melissa is gonna stay in hostel (didn't know that IMU provides hostel as well) and Evelynn will be searching for house which is cheaper and further. Arathi is still searching for a room now, if she can't find 1, she will be sharing the room with me till December.

Now, I gotta buy all the stuff I need in Seremban... haih.... need to spend money again. Hope everything will be fine during my days in Seremban...

P/S: Changed my background music last few days... How's it? Nice? I like this music... And also changed some of the title... no more medical term...haha...

After Exam...

What kind of mood should I having now? Happy...because after exam? 'Sien'...because got nothing to do? Haih...

I really have no mood now. No mood for shopping, no mood for movie, no mood for everything... I've been trying watching the dramas and movies which I downloaded during the study leave, which I've been looking forward to watch after exam, but I found that they weren't as nice as I expected. It's not because they weren't nice, just because I really have no mood now.

Now I am watching "The Magician of Love" which is showing in 8tv now, "Which Planet are you from?" which is a korean drama, and some other funny programmes.... Remember during exam, I was craving to watch "The Magician of Love", but now, I think it's becoming more boring now. It is because of me or actually the storyline becoming more boring now? Any1 got any nice movie to recommend?

Read my friends' blog, seemed so enjoying now. Why is my life so boring??? But I think the problem is not that I got nothing to do, is that I got no mood to do... I wanna go out but I will spend money if going out. I wanna save money now, coz my dad keep complaining that he has no money now. I wanna buy clothes, shoes and computer. I wanna watch movie marathon. I wanna sing karaoke non stop. Haih... you cant do anything without money!!!

Got letter from IMU about the convocation thing. I think most of my batchmates might be absent from the convocation, so there will be less fun then. I really hope can see every1 of them in the convocation. It might be the last chance to see some of them who are going to PMS. Erm... remind me to bring camera!

Erm...ya! Yesterday Viva list was out. I think I am not in the list because no1 tell me anything about that. I wonder how many people got into viva. So now, gotta wait till Friday to know my EOS results. Really pray hard to get very good results!!!

Today I cleaned my room. Tried to pack all my notes and found out I actually cut down a lot of trees during this 2 1/2 years. My PBL notes from Sem2-5 are 2 Papa Patho thick and all those questions I photocopied for every system are 1 1/2 Papa Patho thick. Oh Gosh... I don't know what to do with them now. Those questions I can sell them off or give to some1 else, but what to do with the PBL notes. I think I am not going to refer to them anymore... And also I wanna sell my books, try to earn some money, but I am not sure that which book I am going to use for my clinical phase.

Now my biggest problem is to find a place to stay in Seremban, hope can settle it within this week.

记忆

之前考试读书的时候，忽然间觉得自己脑袋里的记忆存档已经要爆了，塞满垃圾，再也装不下任何东西。才刚读的东西，可以一转眼就忘掉，根本是白读了！

我忽然有一个想法，想把我的记忆全部删除，再慢慢的把所要的记忆一个一个输入回去。如果真的可以办到，那该多好啊！

Dunno y? The post I wrote yesterday night.... all gone!! OMG!!! I am not going to rewrite everything again!!!

Basically I just wrote that I've finished exam and how I did in the exam.... I noticed I've made a lot of careless mistakes when other people kept discussing after exam... But still I hope can pass with flying colours... Haha...thinking too positively!!! Because I know I didn't prepare well b4 exam... Still watching TV the day b4... not as hardworking as in Sem 3...Remembered last time Sem 3 I felt more depressed after coming out from the exam hall... But now I becoming more relaxing after every exam... Ok I don't wanna talk about it anymore!!!

Now gotta search houses in Seremban and enjoy my last long holz!!
